BREVARD, N.C. – Junior men's tennis student-athlete Ethan McGee has been awarded USA South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors after a big week for the Tornados that included clinching a postseason berth into the USA South Men's Tennis Tournament in Rome, Georgia.
McGee, a native of Salisbury, North Carolina, earned a singles and doubles win over opposition from USA South foe Maryville in his only action last week for the Tornados. Both wins came at the number-one positions as he teamed with Noah Lewis in doubles.
McGee has put together an impressive resume in the Spring portion of the Tornados' 2021-22 season, earning five number-one singles victories and holding a 4-2 record in top-flight singles action in conference play. McGee has also secured three top-tier doubles wins with teammates Andrew Ingram and Noah Lewis.
McGee's accolade gives Brevard 29 USA South Conference weekly awards won by a Brevard College student-athlete in the 2021-22 season.
McGee and the rest of the 2021-22 Brevard College men's and women's tennis teams are heading to the 2022 USA South Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Tournament in Rome, Georgia, held at the Rome Tennis Center on the campus of Berry College.
