BREVARD, N.C. – The USA South Conference has released its annual preseason coaches poll for the sport of men's tennis, selecting the Brevard College Tornados to finish fifth in the West Division.
Each divisional preseason poll only includes votes from coaches within that particular division only. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting. A new addition to the sport of men's tennis within the Conference will be Southern Virginia which enters the League for its first year of membership.
Covenant earned five first-place votes and 35 points to capture preseason favorite status in the West. Piedmont garnered the remaining two first-place results and 32 points to finish in second, while Huntingdon (23 points) and LaGrange (19) narrowly finished ahead of Brevard with 17 points. Berea (sixth, 11 points) and Maryville (seventh, 10 points) closed out the polling in the division.
N.C. Wesleyan is the preseason favorite in the East Division as the Battling Bishops look to continue their reign within the League having won 12 consecutive USA South regular season and tournament championships.

Brevard, under the direction of third-year Head Coach Brad Jones, is coming off a busy Fall portion of its season that featured seven total matches. The Tornados begin their Spring on Sunday, February 13 at 1 p.m. in Charlotte, North Carolina, taking on Johnson & Wales – NC.
The 2022 USA South Men's Tournament will take place at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. The top-four seeded teams from each division will advance to postseason play.
