BREVARD, N.C. – Kyle Knott has been named Volunteer Assistant Coach/Goalkeepers Coach and Brady Tesch named Graduate Assistant for the reigning USA South Conference champion Brevard College Men's Soccer program, announced Head Coach Helio "L" D'Anna.

Knott will assist in all aspects of the Brevard College Men's Soccer program with a concentration on goalkeeping coaching.

"We are thrilled to have Kyle come on board to be with our staff," said Coach D'Anna.  "He will primarily work with the goalkeepers, but will be an asset in all of our operations.  Kyle is not only highly qualified as a goalkeeper coach, but he has all the traits to be a great coach and teacher. All the players and in particular our goalkeepers are excited to work with him."

Knott arrives at Brevard College after spending the past three years as the Manager of Classification for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Prior to that role, Knott worked as the National Events Manager for USA Cycling.  His experience also includes work in college athletics as the Head Cycling Coach at Belmont Abbey College and in roles at Winthrop University and Mars Hill University.

On the pitch, Knott was recently named to the inaugural USA Blind Soccer Men's National Team as a sighted goalkeeper where he is focused on helping his teammates build Team USA's program to compete in international competition.  The USA team and Knott are preparing to debut the squad at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, California.

He holds a Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches Association and a Grassroots Coaching certificate from the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Knott, originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, was a multi-sport collegiate athlete who graduated from James Madison University in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science and Leadership.  He continued his studies, earning a Health and Physical Education teaching license from Mars Hill University in 2011.  Knott plans to begin pursuing a M.S. in Health and Human Performance this fall at Brevard College.

Knott is the son of the late Dr. Stephen Knott, who served as the Faculty Athletics Representative for Brevard College until his passing. He looks forward to carrying on his father's legacy at BC.

Tesch Joins the BC staff as a Graduate Assistant for the Tornados where responsibilities will include all phases with the varsity team and serving as an assistant coach for the reserve team. He will also lead the strength and conditioning programs for both teams.

After initially earning his youth completion from United Soccer Coaching programming, Tesch is currently studying at the Master's program for Health and Human Performance at Brevard with a focus on strength and conditioning.  Originally from Auburn, Washington, Tesch played four years at Montana State University Billings, an NCAA Division II program.  After receiving an additional year of eligibility due to COVID-19 provisions by the NCAA, Tesch enrolled at Brevard College and played moved to Brevard's Men's team and was a key part as a starting defender for the 2022 USA South Conference championship team that advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in school history.

Brady initially completed his undergraduate studies in Health and Human Performance with a Teaching Licensure.  He is on pace to earn a Master's of Science in Health and Human Performance from Brevard College in the Spring of 2024.

The 2022 Brevard College Men's Soccer team won the USA South Conference for the first time in program history in dramatic fashion, winning three matches in five days as the tournament's fourth seed. BC's postseason run required the Tornados to play three matches over the course of five days with all three games going to overtime and one win coming in penalty kicks. By winning the conference, the Tornados earned the school's first-ever berth into the NCAA Division III national championships. Brevard concluded the most illustrious season in the program's NCAA-era history, with its first USA South Conference title and a debut appearance in the NCAA Division III National Championships.
