Tornados Secure NCAA-Era Record 10th Win of Season with 1-0 Victory Over Greensboro

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (10-5-1, 4-2-0 USA South) won its 10th game of the season - giving the Tornados their most single-season wins in the program's NCAA era - as BC earned a 1-0 win over Greensboro College (4-8-5, 2-3-1 USAS) on Wednesday night at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

With the win, the Tornados secured their position in the 2022 USA South Men's Soccer Tournament, as BC is now guaranteed to host at least one match in the postseason with a top-four seed.

Freshman defender-turned-forward Daniel Morgan scored his fourth goal of the season, heading home a Ryan Lynch corner kick in the 38th minute. The score would prove to be all the Tornados would need, as the back-and-forth match finished in favor of BC who shut out the Pride for the entirety of the contest.

Both sides finished tied in shot attempts, with each team taking a total of 15 strikes. Greensboro made four saves on five BC shots-on-goal, while the Tornados took seven corner kicks to GC's four.

Lynch and Morgan each led the way for the Tornado offense with three shot attempts in the matchup, with Rodrigo Garcia and Luis dos Santos each taking two shots.

The Tornados will continue to battle for postseason positioning on Saturday as Brevard celebrates Senior Day at 2 p.m. vs. William Peace University at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
