BC Drops Non-Conference Road Match
ADVANCE, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (0-2) dropped a non-conference road match 2-0 to host Carolina University (3-0) on Saturday night at the BB&T Soccer Park in Advance, North Carolina.
 
Carolina took an early lead with a goal by Joe Reynolds in the 10th minute. The next 34 minutes would be scoreless for both teams until the host Bruins struck again with a goal by Karell Buitendijk.
 
The Bruins took a 2-0 advantage into halftime, then held that score through the entire second period en route to the win.
 
Brevard outshot the Bruins 8-4 in the second half after attempting just two shots in the first half.  In the contest, BC attempted three corner kicks compared to just one by Carolina.
 
Senior Luis dos Santos led BC in shots, firing off four attempts with two on goal.  Junior Augustin Onetto added two shot attempts.
 
Freshman Matheus Rossi started in goal and recorded a career-high 10 saves.  Fellow freshman Justin Rivest played the final 20 minutes in goal for the Tornados. 
 
The Tornados return to action on Wednesday with their third of six road games to start the season.  BC travels to Atlanta for a non-conference match at Oglethorpe.  Start time is set for 7:30 p.m. on the Oglethorpe University campus.
