BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's soccer team (9-3-3) qualified for postseason competition for the third straight season, as the Tornados begin their pursuit of another championship in the 2021 USA South Conference Tournament with a first-round matchup against east division two-seed NC Wesleyan College (7-7-2) on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

The Tornados, under the direction of third-year Head Coach Helio "L" D'Anna, qualified for their third-consecutive playoff appearance after finishing as the three-seed in a highly-competitive west division. BC finished the regular season with a 2-2-2 record in conference play and eight points in the standings.

BC finished the season on a high note, as winners of four of its last five matches. The Tornado offense was led by senior forward Adam Spencer, who registered five goals to lead the team. Sophomore forward Ryan Lynch added four goals, while Estevan Berto, Vitor Braga, and Ryan Sinkamba all put three scores into the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder Estevan Berto led all Tornados with five assists and 11 points to facilitate the offense.

Four Tornados – Wendel Lima, Lynch, Sam O'Callaghan, and Spencer – earned postseason honors from the USA South. O'Callaghan, a sophomore defender from Wicklow, Ireland, led the way with an All-Conference First Team selection in addition to a nod on the West Division First Team. Lima, Lynch, and Spencer were all West Division Second Team selections, while Spencer was BC's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

The winner of the Brevard/NC Wesleyan match will advance to the semifinals, where the winner of the William Peace/Huntingdon contest will be waiting. The semifinals and championship of the 2021 USA South Men's Soccer Tournament will be held at the campus site of the highest remaining divisional seed after first-round play. If the highest remaining divisional seeds are the same, the games will be hosted by the west division representative based on a predetermined rotation.
