BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College men's soccer was honored as part of the USA South Conference's postseason awards, as four Tornados captured a total of six honors.
Sophomore defender Sam O'Callaghan took home All-Conference First Team honors in addition to a West Division First Team selection to highlight the list for the Tornados. Sophomore midfielder Wendel Lima, sophomore forward Ryan Lynch, and senior forward Adam Spencer were all selected as West Division Second Team honorees, while Spencer was BC's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
O'Callaghan, a native of Wicklow, Ireland, logged a pair of goals with three assists for seven points in a stellar sophomore campaign, bringing his career total to three goals and seven assists in two seasons with the Tornados. O'Callaghan scored both of his goals via penalty kick, including one that proved to be the game-winner over Pfeiffer on September 29, as the right-back adds to his resume after earning All-Conference West Division First Team honors in the Spring.
Lynch, a product of Charlotte, North Carolina, earns the second West Division Second Team honor of his career after producing a Fall season that included four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points. In his two seasons with Brevard, Lynch has accumulated seven goals total.
Lima, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, scored a game-winning goal vs. LaGrange last Saturday that put the Tornados in position for their third-consecutive postseason berth, while adding an assist for three total points in the Fall season.
Spencer, hailing from Mooresville, North Carolina, is capping off a stellar five-year career at Brevard, breaking the program records for NCAA-era goals (15) and points (35) while helping lead the Tornados to their third-straight playoff trip. Spencer has racked up a team-high five goals during the regular season on an efficient eight shots-on-goal, including the first of five goals in an October 9 blowout win, 5-1, at Berea.
The Tornados will prepare for first-round action in the 2021 USA South Conference Tournament on Saturday when Brevard travels to Rocky Mount, North Carolina to take on East Division two-seed NC Wesleyan College at 2 p.m.
