BREVARD, N.C. - An entertaining contest between Brevard College (5-1-3, 0-0-2 USAS) and Covenant College (5-3-2, 0-0-1 USAS) lasted 110 minutes before finishing in a draw, as the Tornados and Scots drew scoreless on Saturday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

Thiago Leopardi (3-0-2) logged his third shutout of the season, making a career-high six saves to keep the Scots out of the back of the net. BC's starting defense of Rocco Barbon, Igor da Silva, Sam O'Callaghan, and Inigo Satrustegui aided in the scoreless performance - the second in a row for the Tornados.

Brevard outshot Covenant 19-14 in a rematch of the Spring 2021 USA South West Division Championship match. BC logged seven total saves - six by Leopardi and a team save off the line - while winning five corner kicks in the contest.

Covenant was able to outshoot Brevard 5-2 through the first 30 minutes of play before BC's Marcos da Silva, Rodrigo Garcia, Adam Spencer, and Trystan Wallace all took attempts at goal. Garcia took a rip just before the half that nearly creeeped under the crossbar, but was just high, as the Tornados and Scots remained scoreless through halftime.

BC's Wendel Lima was able to create chances for the Tornados early in the second half, firing a pair of shots that went high. Ryan Lynch forced two saves from Covenant goalkeeper Henry Hooks before a last-chance header from Wallace was turned away by the left post, sending the contest into the first overtime period.

BC's Lynch and O'Callaghan each took shots in the first overtime period, but both went off target as the thrilling contest was forced into a second overtime stanza.

On a free kick in the second overtime, Lima whipped a pass to a streaking Tino Onetto, but the freshman's attempt went just left of the post in what would be BC's last shot of the evening, as Brevard claimed a hard-fought point in a pivotal conference contest.

The Tornados will return to conference play on Tuesday, October 5 for a 6 p.m. kickoff against Piedmont University in Demorest, Georgia.
