Tornados and Tigers Go 110 Minutes Scoreless

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (2-1-1) and Sewanee (1-2-1) played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

Following 90 minutes of scoreless play during regulation, the two teams went to sudden-death overtime.  Neither team was able to score in the 20 minutes of overtime play, resulting in the scoreless tied score after a total of 110 minutes.
 
Brevard outshot Sewanee 17-10 in the contest. Neither team was able to create many quality chances with BC recording four shots-on-goal and Sewanee just two.
 
The first half featured 13 of the 27 total shots into the contest, while the second stanza showcased only six shots between the two teams.  Sewanee registered 10 corner kicks in the match, however was unable to convert on any of those chances either.  
 
Freshman goalkeeper Thiago Leopardi recorded two saves in the 110-minute shutout, the first of his collegiate career.  Starting defenders Sam O'Callaghan, Igor da Silva, Rocco Barbon and Inigo Satrustegui along with reserves Adan Miller, Joao de Souza and Miles Schafer handled the defensive duties for the Tornados en route to the 110-minute shutout.
 
The match was the fourth consecutive home game for the Tornados to start the Fall, 2021 season.  Brevard next hits the road for three
straight away contests beginning with a non-conference match at Warren Wilson in Swannanoa, North Carolina.
