Matheus Alexandre Silva Santos Announced as Volunteer Assistant Coach for BC Men’s Soccer
July 14, 2022Matheus Alexandre Silva Santos has been added to the Brevard College men’s soccer coaching staff as Volunteer Assistant Coach, announced Head Coach Helio “L” D’Anna. "Matheus has the dream to coach in the United States of America,” commented Coach L. “He completed his playing career early in life and moved his focus into coaching. He has dedicated himself academically and at the club level in Brazil and is eager to join our staff. We are happy to have him." -
Brevard College Places Record 167 Student-Athletes on USA South Academic All-Conference List
June 09, 2022Brevard College placed a school-record 167 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 academic year. BC’s 167 academic all-conference selections shatters the previous record of 129 set in 2020-21. Brevard is among the top-five schools in the USA South in total number of honorees, joining Piedmont University (215 honorees), Huntingdon College (199 honorees), Southern Virginia University (197 honorees), and Methodist University (158 honorees) in the top-five of USA South Conference institutions.

Three Tornados Earn All-State Accolades from NCCSIA
January 24, 2022Sophomore defender Sam O’Callaghan became the first Tornado in program history selected to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association’s (NCCSIA) All-State First Team, while sophomore Estevan Berto and senior Adam Spencer were voted All-State Second Team as the Brevard College men’s soccer team placed a record three student-athletes on the All-State Team – College Division.

O’Callaghan Becomes Men’s Soccer’s First All-Region Selection in DIII Era
November 29, 2021Brevard College sophomore defender Sam O’Callaghan was selected as an All-Region VI Third Team honoree by United Soccer Coaches. The honor becomes the first All-Region award for BC men’s soccer in the program’s NCAA DIII-era.

October 29, 2021The Brevard College men’s soccer team (9-3-3) qualified for postseason competition for the third straight season, as the Tornados begin their pursuit of another championship in the 2021 USA South Conference Tournament with a first-round matchup against east division two-seed NC Wesleyan College (7-7-2) on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

O’Callaghan Earns All-Conference First Team to Highlight Four Men’s Soccer Honorees
October 28, 2021Brevard College men’s soccer was honored as part of the USA South Conference’s postseason awards, as four Tornados captured a total of six honors. Sophomore defender Sam O’Callaghan took home All-Conference First Team honors in addition to a West Division First Team selection to highlight the list for the Tornados. Sophomore midfielder Wendel Lima, sophomore forward Ryan Lynch, and senior forward Adam Spencer were all selected as West Division Second Team honorees, while Spencer was BC’s representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

September 29, 2021The Brevard College men's soccer team (5-1-2) defeated host Pfeiffer (3-4-0), 1-0, in a midweek, non-conference contest on Wednesday evening in Misenheimer, North Carolina. With the win, the Tornados extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches. Sophomore captain Sam O'Callaghan, a defender from Wicklow, Ireland, scored the game's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 18th minute. It marked the second career goal for O'Callaghan, a Spring 2021 First-Team All-West Division selection.

Men’s Soccer Rolls Past Warren Wilson, 4-0; Spencer Ties Program Goal Record
September 15, 2021Sophomores Ryan Lynch and Ryan Sinkamba were involved with multiple scoring attempts, as the Brevard College men's soccer team (3-1-1) rolled past Warren Wilson College (0-3), 4-0, on Wednesday evening in nearby Swannanoa, North Carolina as the two Western North Carolina institutions squared off. Adam Spencer, a senior from Mooresville, North Carolina, scored his second goal in his second game of the year. Spencer's 29th-minute score moved the fifth-year senior into a tie for the NCAA-era career lead for goals scored, as Spencer is now tied with former teammate Matheus Masukawa with 12 career goals as BC Tornados.

Tornados and Tigers Go 110 Minutes Scoreless
September 11, 2021The Brevard College men's soccer team (2-1-1) and Sewanee (1-2-1) played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Following 90 minutes of scoreless play during regulation, the two teams went to sudden-death overtime. Neither team was able to score in the 20 minutes of overtime play, resulting in the scoreless tied score after a total of 110 minutes.
