Pfeiffer Cruises Past Brevard in USA South Home Opener

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (2-7, 0-2 USA South) fell 26-4 to Pfeiffer University (8-0, 1-0 USAS) on Tuesday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field in the first home USA South Conference contest for the Tornados.

Graduate attacker Parker Corbett scored a pair of goals for the Tornados, while Drew Pond dished out two assists. Andrew McDonald and Will Scoggins also scored for BC, with freshman Gage Khayat dishing out an assist as well. Goalkeeper Jack Hicks (2-5) made 15 saves in his 40-plus minutes of work, while Scott Bundy totaled seven saves.

Pfeiffer's offense was led by Tyler Ajemian and Quinn Becraft, who each scored four goals apiece as the Falcons put 13 different names on the scoring ledger. J.P. Galloway facilitated the Falcon offense with five assists, while faceoffs were dominated by the Pfeiffer duo of Jacob Dinnan (12-of-13) and Elias Solano (14-of-18).

The Falcons outshot the Tornados 72-18 and grabbed 62 ground balls to BC's 20. Pfeiffer was perfect on its clear attempts (12-for-12) and forced BC into 32 turnovers, as Ajemian and Kendall Jones each caused a pair of Brevard turnovers. Each team was able to score on a man-up opportunity.

The Tornados will return to action on Saturday at 3 p.m. as BC faces LaGrange College at home.
