BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's lacrosse program has announced its schedule for the upcoming Spring 2023 season of competition.
The schedule features an equal distribution of eight road and home matches (16 total), with eight contests coming inside USA South Conference play.
"This upcoming season has me really excited, commented second-year Head Coach JD LeMay. "We have a great group of guys and a chance to keep moving this program in the right direction. We have seven non-conference games ahead of conference play that will prepare us for the USA South schedule. Our regular season concludes with one more non-conference game against Warren Wilson in the "Battle of the Blue Ridge" - a rivalry game we started last season. Our guys are pretty excited about our schedule this year and can't wait to get started."
Brevard gets things going with a weekend road trip to Virginia, as the Tornados face a pair of ODAC foes in Randolph College on Friday, February 17 at 6 p.m. in Lynchburg, and an 11 a.m. contest vs. Ferrum College on Sunday, February 19 at 11 a.m. in Ferrum. Brevard returns home to close out the month of February with the first-ever meeting between Brevard and Spalding University as part of a season-opening home doubleheader with the BC women's lacrosse team against Spalding, with the men's contest being played under the lights at Ives-Lemel Family Field on Friday, February 24.
March begins with a weeknight road trip down to Atlanta for a 5 p.m. start time against Oglethorpe University on Thursday, March 2. BC then hosts three-consecutive home contests, beginning with a Tuesday, March 7 matchup vs. Guilford College at 2 p.m. Brevard's home stretch continues with a contest vs. Husson University on Friday, March 10 at 1 p.m. before concluding on Monday, March 13 against Point University at 3 p.m.
USA South Conference play gets underway as the Tornados travel to Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday, March 18 when Brevard matches up with Huntingdon College at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT. BC will close out the month of March with consecutive conference home games vs. Pfeiffer University on Tuesday, March 21 at 3 p.m. and against LaGrange College on Saturday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
Brevard kicks off the month of April with a Saturday, April 1 showdown in Cary, North Carolina against William Peace University at 2 p.m. before a midweek conference road trip to Demorest, Georgia to take on Piedmont University at 7 p.m. Greensboro College makes the trip to the mountains of Western North Carolina on Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m. before the Tornados hit the road for their final conference road contest in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday, April 15 at 12 p.m. against Methodist University.
BC closes out conference competition and hosts Senior Day on Saturday, April 22 at 12 p.m. against Southern Virginia University at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Brevard will restart its "Battle of the Blue Ridge" rivalry vs. regional foe Warren Wilson on Saturday, April 29 at 4 p.m. in Swannanoa, North Carolina.
The USA South Conference Men's Lacrosse tournament gets going on Tuesday, May 2 with first-round action before the semifinals and championship contest on Friday and Saturday, May 5-6.
