Tornados Drop Conference Matchup to Falcons

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's basketball team (4-10, 0-3 USAS) lost a USA South Conference matchup 88-59 to Pfeiffer University (4-7, 1-1 USAS) on Tuesday night at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

Freshman Jadon Carnes led Brevard offensively with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, while grabbing four rebounds.  BC's Kavan Horton and Chancey Watson also scored in double figures, each scoring 10 points.

Pfeiffer was led by Rashamel Butler and Daymon Beckwith who each registered 16 points. Daniel Fulp led the Falcons on the glass with seven rebounds to go along with 14 points.

BC opened the game on a 10-0 run, then stretched its lead to 19-7 following a three-pointer by Watson off an assist by Horton. 

Later in the first half, the Tornados held a 34-30 lead following a layup by Carnes.  Pfeiffer however closed out the first half with an 11-0 run to take a 41-34 into halftime.

Pfeiffer extended its lead even further in the second half, outscoring BC 47-25 in the final stanza en route to the road win.

The Falcons outshot Brevard 58% to 40% from the field, while making 11 three-pointers compared to just four by the Tornados.

Brevard will return to action with a conference road game against NC Wesleyan University at 4 p.m. in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
