BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's basketball team (2-4) scored a season-high 96 points en route to a 14-point victory, 96-82, over Oglethorpe University (3-4) on Monday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

For the second-consecutive contest, senior guard Quincy Carter led the Tornados offensively in the winning effort, tallying 26 points on an efficient 9-of-13 shooting from the field with three made 3-pointers. The Decatur, Georgia native added to his offensive output with an all-around effort, grabbing six rebounds while also logging three assists and two steals.

Carter was one of four Tornados who reached double-digit scoring outputs, with teammates LB Boyette (18 points), Chancey Watson (14 points), and Carson Evans (12 points) also registering double figures. Boyette added five rebounds and a team-high five assists, while Watson grabbed six boards and totaled two steals. Jadon Carnes and Garrett Sutherland each scored eight points apiece, and Kavan Horton hauled down a team-high seven rebounds for the Tornados.

Oglethorpe was led by Dylan Bennefield's 17-point effort off the bench, while Jordan James and Uba Ezigbo each scored 15 points.

The Tornados shot 53.4% from the field and hit a season-high 12 3-pointers to push the offense forward. Brevard controlled the boards 38-30 and logged 21 assists. The Tornado defense forced 15 turnovers that resulted in 21 points, and BC controlled the scoring in the paint 48-34.

Oglethorpe scored the game's first bucket before Brevard immediately tied things up at two apiece. The Stormy Petrels answered back with a bucket of their own before 3-pointers from Watson and Carter gave BC a lead that it would not relinquish for the remainder of the evening.

BC surged out to a 12-point advantage, 21-9, with a 16-3 scoring run that was capped by a Carter layup at the 13:15 mark. Oglethorpe spent the remainder of the half attempting to chip away at the deficit, with the visitors cutting the BC lead to just four points, 34-30, before the Tornados took a five-point advantage to the halftime locker rooms, 42-37. Boyette and Watson each had 12 points at the break, with Carter adding 10.

Brevard's lead remained in single digits until an Evans layup with 13 minutes left to play pushed BC's lead to 11 points, 64-53. The Tornados were able to keep the margin around the double-digit mark, as Brevard took a game-best 17-point advantage following a Carnes layup with 2:10 left to make the score 91-74 in favor of Brevard before the hosts wrapped up the 14-point triumph.
