BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College men's basketball student-athletes LB Boyette and Hayden Cassell have each been honored by the USA South Conference as part of the league's 2021-22 All-Conference postseason awards.  Boyette, a sophomore guard forward from Charlotte, North Carolina, was named a USA South Conference Second Team West Division selection.  Cassell, a senior forward from Kingsport, Tennessee, was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team.

Boyette led the Tornados this season with 12 points-per-game and 3.9 rebounds-per-game.  He made a team-high 91 total field goals on the year with a team-best 33 made 3-pointers to go along with another team-high with 74 free throws made.  Boyette recorded 16 double-figure scoring outputs throughout 2021-22, scoring ten or more points in five of the season's last seven games.  He exploded for a career-high 31 points in a thrilling 104-98 double overtime win over conference foe Berea on December 11 at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

Cassell, a leader for the Tornados throughout his four-year playing career, is set to graduate this Spring from Brevard College with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching.  Over his career, Cassell accumulated 217 points, 102 rebounds, 62 assists and 32 steals at Brevard.

Boyette and Cassell helped lead the 2021-22 Brevard College men's basketball team to its first-ever trip to the USA South Conference tournament and its first overall postseason appearance since the 2015 season.
