BREVARD, N.C. - Three Brevard College Tornados reached double figure scoring totals as the BC men's basketball team (6-12) downed Bob Jones University (7-10), 86-72, on Friday night at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

Brevard took a six-point lead, 42-36, into the halftime locker room.

Carter led all Tornados with 10 points at the break, while Boyette added eight points.

With the score 47-40 in favor of the Tornados, Brevard was able to string together an impressive 18-0 scoring run that lasted over seven minutes, beginning with a Bleynat layup and concluding with a Carter 3-pointer at the 13:28 mark. Brevard was able to use its lengthy scoring run to position itself towards an eventual 14-point win, 86-72.

Brevard hit its field goals at a 45% clip and hit nine 3-pointers while out-rebounding the Bruins 43-37. The Tornados were able to score 29 second-chance points and total 40 points in the paint, while BC's bench totaled 36 points.

Brevard hosted its seventh-annual Red Out game on Friday in conjunction with The Jimmy Griffin Foundation and the American Heart Association's Heart Health Awareness Month, in memory and support of Jimmy Griffin's legacy.

The Tornados will begin the home stretch of their USA South Conference schedule on Tuesday, February 8 when Brevard hosts #12 Maryville College at 7 p.m. for Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day.
