Damalos and Naylor Take Home Conference Weekly Awards

BREVARD, N.C. - Senior place-kicker Stamati Damalos and junior linebacker Toby Naylor were both selected as USA South Conference Athletes of the Week, with Damalos taking home Special Teams Player of the Week honors while Naylor earned a Defensive Player of the Week nod in the final week of the season.

Damalos, a senior from Tarpon Springs, Florida, hit a school-record 47-yard field goal that highlighted a perfect 4-for-4 day on field goal attempts. The senior also hit from 27, 40, and 42 yards while also making all four of his point-after tries.

The senior kicker finishes the 2021 season with a perfect 27-of-27 mark on PAT's, while making 14-of-19 field goal attempts for a 74% mark. Damalos has scored a conference-best 69 points, has made a conference-high 14 field goals, and has a conference-best 100% mark on PAT's.

Naylor, a junior linebacker from Southampton, England, totaled his second double-digit tackle total of 2021 with 11 tackles (six solo, five assist), while adding his fourth sack of the season and a season-high 2 1/2 tackles-for-loss.

The junior ranks top-10 in the USA South in total tackles (60), sacks (4), and tackles-for-loss (10.5) to round out an impressive season. Naylor has totaled 122 tackles, 7 1/2 sacks, and 23 tackles-for-loss in his three seasons as a Tornado.

The Tornados finished the Fall 2021 season with a 6-4 overall record that includes a 6-2 mark in conference play. Brevard's six conference wins are the program's most in league play.
