O’Leary Named to National Team of the Week after First TD Grab of Career

BREVARD, N.C. - Following the first touchdown catch of his Tornado career - a 31-yard score that helped the Brevard College football team roll past NC Wesleyan 32-7 last Saturday - senior tight end Jaden O'Leary has been named to D3football.com's Team of the Week.

The selection marks BC's first weekly honoree on the national level for the Fall 2021 season. Fellow Tornado Joc Pledger was selected as a Preseason All-American by D3football.com.

O'Leary, a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, enjoyed a career performance on Saturday with career-high totals in receptions (three), yards (44), and touchdowns (one) to aid the Tornado offense in their conference-opening victory over NC Wesleyan.

O'Leary, a Criminal Justice major at Brevard College, appeared with fellow senior teammate Stamati Damalos on Tornado Talk on Monday night to discuss the big win for BC. The pair can be found appearing at the 33:17 mark below.

BC football is back in action on Saturday in a 1 p.m. kickoff at Ives-Lemel Family Field, taking on Huntingdon College. The contest serves as BC's Faculty & Staff Appreciation game.
