  • Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 Announced

    Brevard College has announced the selection of Tristan Cowie (Cycling) and the 1982 National Championship Men’s Cross Country team as the 2022 inductees into the Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame. Cowie and the 1982 Men’s Cross Country team will become the 44th and 45th inductees into the college’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
  • Brevard College Places Record 167 Student-Athletes on USA South Academic All-Conference List

    Brevard College placed a school-record 167 student-athletes on the USA South Academic All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 academic year. BC’s 167 academic all-conference selections shatters the previous record of 129 set in 2020-21. Brevard is among the top-five schools in the USA South in total number of honorees, joining Piedmont University (215 honorees), Huntingdon College (199 honorees), Southern Virginia University (197 honorees), and Methodist University (158 honorees) in the top-five of USA South Conference institutions.
  • Brevard College Tornado Student-Athletes Honored at 2021-22 BESPYs

    The Brevard College Department of Athletics hosted the 2021-22 BESPYs, the college’s annual Athletic Awards ceremony on Monday, April 25 at the Boshamer Gymnasium. It marked the first in-person BESPYs awards banquet since the Spring of 2019.

  • Brevard College Cycling and Cognative MTB Begin Partnership

    The ten-time national champion Brevard College Cycling team and Cognative MTB, a premier Mountain Bike apparel manufacturer located in Hendersonville, North Carolina, have entered into a new sponsorship partnership beginning this Spring. The partnership kicked off with a photo shoot and team ride at the college’s dual slalom and short track course at Savannah Hill on the BC campus.
  • Brevard College’s Cycling National Champions Presented with Commemorative Jerseys

    Brevard College Cycling student-athletes Tyler Clark, Erica Leonard and Tyler Orschel were honored with a special presentation of custom national championship jerseys to commemorate the combined six individual USA Cycling national titles won by the Tornados this past season.
  • BC Finishes Third as Team at Cyclocross National Championships; Orschel Wins Individual Title

    Brevard College senior Tyler Orschel won the Men’s Varsity Collegiate national title and the BC Tornados finished third as a team at the 2021 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships with the collegiate portion of the six-day event concluding Friday at Cantigney Park in Wheaton, Illinois.
  • Brevard College Cycling Ready for Cyclocross National Championships

    WHEATON, Ill. – The 10-time national champion Brevard College Cycling team is ready for competition at the 2021 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships at Cantigney Park in Wheaton, Illinois in the suburbs of Chicago. The Tornados will be racing in the Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Varsity competitions scheduled for Thursday morning followed by Friday afternoon’s Collegiate Team Relay.

  • Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2021 Officially Inducted

    Brevard College inducted Jeff Wentworth (Cross Country/Track & Field) and the 2009 National Championship Cycling Team as the 2021 class of the Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at The Porter Center on October 9. Wentworth and the '09 Cycling team became the 42nd and 43rd inductees into the college's Athletics Hall of Fame.

The Brevard College Cycling team enjoyed exceptional on-track success throughout the weekend with a total of nine race wins, 21 podium finishes and 58 top-ten results.

    The ten-time national champion Brevard College Cycling program will host the inaugural Brevard College/Ride Kanuga Mountain Bike Race Weekend on Saturday, September 4 and Sunday, September 5. The Saturday action will take place at Ride Kanuga in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Sunday’s races will take place at Savannah Hill on the campus of Brevard College.
  • School-Record Six Brevard College Tornados to Compete at UCI World Mountain Bike Championships

    A school-record six Brevard College Cycling student-athletes will represent their home nations at this week’s UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) Mountain Bike World Championships held in Val di Sole, Trentino, Italy.  BC student-athlete Mazie Hayden will be representing Team USA, while five Tornados – Owen Clark, Tyler Clark, Tyler Orschel, Rachel Pageau and Cole Punchard - will race for Cycling Canada.
  • Brevard College Student-Athletes Collect 229 Conference and National Awards in 2020-21

    A grand total of 229 conference and national awards were handed out to Brevard College student-athletes for their achievements during the 2020-21 season. A total of 31 national awards were garnered by Tornado student-athletes this past season, including 11 national academic awards.
