Trio of Tornados Secure All-Sportsmanship Honors in Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse and Women’s Tennis

BREVARD, N.C. – Senior men's lacrosse student-athlete Evan Francois, junior women's lacrosse student-athlete Meredith Brown, and junior women's tennis student-athlete Brooke Garland all represented Brevard College in their respective sports on the 2022 USA South Conference All-Sportsmanship Teams.

Francois, a senior attacker from Charlotte, North Carolina, concluded his Tornado career by playing in all 14 contests for BC men's lacrosse in 2022, totaling 10 points with five goals and five assists, racking up 30 ground balls and six caused turnovers in his senior campaign. In his four-year career at Brevard, Francois totaled 15 goals, 11 assists, 82 ground balls, and 18 caused turnovers.

Brown, a junior defender from Columbia, South Carolina, made six appearances and three starts for the BC women's lacrosse team in 2022, taking a pair of shots including a free-position attempt.

Garland, a junior from Canton, North Carolina, earned All-Sportsmanship honors from the conference for the second-consecutive season. Garland was a key contributor on the BC squad that qualified for postseason play for the first time since 2011-12, as Brevard won a first-round game at the McCoy Tennis Complex, 5-0, over Maryville College. Garland totaled 10 singles victories and maintained a 4-3 singles record in conference action, while totaling 11 doubles wins over the course of Brevard's 11-win season in 2021-22.
