BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's and women's basketball teams are gearing up for the final weeks of their respective regular seasons ahead of the 2021-22 USA South Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments.
The men's squad (6-12, 3-4 USAS) concludes its season with four of its next five games at the Boshamer Gymnasium, while the women's team (12-8, 6-5 USAS) wraps up the regular season with a pair of home-and-home series vs. Huntingdon and Maryville.
BC's men's team, under the direction of Head Coach Lee Burgess and Assistant Coach Miles Leathers, currently sit in fourth place in the West Division standings with five games remaining as the Tornados have won three out of their last five matchups. Brevard will open its busy five-game stretch on Tuesday against nationally-ranked #12 Maryville College at 7 p.m. in a contest that also serves as Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day.
The Tornados then host consecutive weekend home contests, beginning on Friday at 2 p.m. against Huntingdon College in a matchup that originally was scheduled for January 15. BC then plays host to Covenant College on Saturday at 4 p.m. for Jameson's Joy Day.
The regular season will conclude with a road trip to Demorest, Georgia to face Piedmont University on Tuesday, February 15 at 7 p.m., followed by Senior Day on Saturday, February 19 at the Boshamer Gymnasium at 2 p.m. vs. LaGrange College.
The 2022 USA South Men's Basketball Tournament features the top-four teams from both the East and West divisions. First-round action will begin on Tuesday, February 22, with the semifinals and championship slated for Friday and Saturday, February 25-26.

The women's squad comes into play this week winners of its last three contests. The Tornados currently sit in fourth place in the USA South West Division with a 6-5 record in conference play. BC first visits Maryville, Tennessee to play Maryville on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before back-to-back weekend contests. Brevard will host its Senior Day on Saturday against Huntingdon at 2 p.m. before a 3 p.m. tip-off vs. Maryville College on Sunday. The regular season will conclude on the road on Tuesday, February 15 at 5:30 p.m. ET in Montgomery, Alabama against Huntingdon.
The 2022 USA South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament is slated to begin on Saturday, February 19 with the four and five seeds from each division squaring off in first-round action. The tournament shifts to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 22, while the semifinal and championship games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 25-26.
