BREVARD, N.C. - Sophomore standout Gavin Morgan set his new personal record 8K time by over a minute and a half as the Brevard College Tornados cross country teams competed in the Queen City Invitational on Friday, hosted by NCAA DI UNC-Charlotte.

Morgan finished the 8,000-meter course with a time of 26:28, which was a minute and 32 seconds faster than his previous personal best set at the Mike & Mary Kay Invite, hosted by Berea College. There, Morgan completed the 8k race in 28 minutes flat.

The Hayesville, N.C. native's 38th-place finish came amongst a crowded men's side that featured 327 total runners that finished Friday's race.

Solomon Turner (32:55), Michael Fader (33:37), Jose Vela (39:34), and Hudson New (39:35) also competed for the Tornados' men's team.

Junior Molly Brown (25:59) was the lone Tornado to compete in the women's 5K race.

The Tornados will return to action on Saturday, October 5 when they travel to Charleston, S.C. to compete in the Charleston Classic, hosted by Charleston Southern.
