Morgan Secures Top-10 Finish as Tornados Open 2019 Season

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Sophomore Gavin Morgan earned a seventh-place finish as the Brevard College Tornados Cross Country team opened its season at the Zaxby's Open, hosted by Tusculum University in Greenville, Tennessee.

Morgan, who bested last year's time by nearly 30 seconds when the Tornados took part in the Zaxby's Open, finished Friday's 5K with a time of 17:08.7, which was good enough to earn him seventh on the men's side.

Two other Tornados - Michael Fader (19:46.7) and Solomon Turner (20:24.9) - made their collegiate debuts in the event.

Brevard Cross Country returns to action next Saturday, September 14 when the Tornados take part in the Mike & Mary K Invite, hosted by USA South Conference member Berea College in Berea, Kentucky.
