Tornados take part in the Zaxby's Open at Tusculum University

GREENVILLE, Tenn. - The Brevard College Tornados Cross Country team kicked off the 2018 season as they traveled to Greenville, Tennessee to participate in the Zaxby's Open at the Holston Home for Children Course. 

Brevard was highlighted by the first collegiate performance of Gavin Morgan on the men's side. Morgan finished the 5k with a time of 17:32.2, good enough to place 17th overall out of 75 total runners. Junior runner Michael Anton finished with a time of 18:15:1, which placed him 31st overall in the event. The Tornados men were rounded off by Hudson New (20:00:8), and George Dowis (21:02:1), who were also making their collegiate debut. 

The women's side saw two Tornados participate, as Hannah Spear and Caitlin Cloud-Morton represented Brevard. Spear finished with a time of 25:46:0, while Cloud-Morton finished with a time of 34:32:0. 

Tornados Cross Country returns to action on September 14th as they travel to Central, S.C. to participate in the Southern Wesleyan Warrior Invite.
