BREVARD, N.C. - Eleanor Flannery remained undefeated as a collegiate to highlight a dominant outing for the Brevard College Tornados Women's Tennis team (4-4), who defeated the Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers, 8-1, at the McCoy Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon.

The Tornados return to the .500 mark at 4-4, while improving to an undefeated 3-0 record within the confines of the McCoy Tennis Complex.

Brevard swept doubles action before taking five out of six singles matches for a grand total of eight points, its highest point total of the 2018-19 season.

The No. 1 doubles duo of Samantha Sepe and Kelsey Kushner handled SMC's Molly Grayson Lawson and Courtney Bagwell, 8-1, to begin action for BC.

A similar performance was enjoyed in No. 2 doubles when the pairing of Darden King and Jen Cox trumped the Pioneers' duo of Megan Lee and Olivia Bennett in identical 8-1 fashion.

No. 3 doubles proved tight, but Margaret Correll and Meckenzie Bowman halted a late Pioneer rally, taking an 8-6 decision to round out the day's doubles matches.

Sepe (No. 1), Kushner (No. 2), King (No. 3), Cox (No. 4), and Flannery (No. 6) all breezed by the Pioneers in singles play to help BC earn its fourth victory of the season. Kushner's 6-1, 6-1 triumph over SMC's Gracie Pall proved the clincher for the Tornados who were playing alongside their male counterparts in Thursday's matinee.

The BC Women's Tennis squad hits the road this weekend for its first USA South Conference test as it matches up with Berea College (0-1) this Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m. in Berea, Ky.
