BREVARD, N.C.- Carmen Boone picked up the final singles win in the match against Maryville on Tuesday afternoon, which helped Brevard women's tennis take home the 5-4 team win.
Brevard (2-4) picked up their first team win of the spring semester with doubles wins from the combinations of Kelsey Kushner and Jen Cox. That duo took down the combination of Kayla Zimmerman and Anastasia Dunn by a score of 9-7. That victory was followed by 8-4 victory by Boone and Hannah Spear, while Kushner, Spear and Boone earned the singles wins on the afternoon.
In the match to decide which school picked up the team win, Boone knocked off Anna Katherine Harris 6-3, 6-4 for the Tornados to pick up their first team win since they beat Montreat 5-4 on Oct. 4th, 2017.
Brevard's next match will be on the road against Agnes Scott on March 17th at 1 p.m.
