Brevard goes on the road to take on Piedmont

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard women's soccer will look to continue another winning streak as they go on the road to face Piedmont at 4 p.m. today.

The Tornados are coming off a thrilling victory over Covenant, as Megan Shina scored a goal in the final minutes of the match to give Brevard the 2-1 win.

Shina continues to be the point leader for Brevard, as she has tallied 16 points (eight goals) on the season. Behind her in total points on the team is senior Sydney Alencewicz, as she has seven points (three goals, one assist) this year.

On the defensive side of the ball Brevard will look to continue to play tough defense, as they have allowed 0.66 goals per match in their six wins on the season.

Piedmont comes into the match 8-0-2, and is the only school in the USA South Conference without a loss this season. The Lions are also tied for first in the conference by allowing only five goals on the season.

Brevard will be looking to stop Piedmont's Cassidy Reich, who leads the team with 12 points (four goals, four assists) on the year. The Lions have a well-balanced offense, as 10 different players have scored goals and 12 players with at least one point recorded on the year.
