Brevard women's soccer shuts out Emory & Henry to earn first home win

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard women's soccer team beat Emory & Henry 3-0 Friday night to pick up their third win of the season.

Megan Shina buried two goals on the match, along with freshman Alyviah Holland netting her first collegiate goal.

The scoring began in the 19th minute, as Shina scored on a bicycle-kick off of a deflected ball.

In the second half, Shina once again found the back of the net in the 51st minute to make the score 2-0.

Just over a minute later, Holland scored off an assist from Kassidy Hunsaker to increase the lead to three.

On the defensive end freshman goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas recorded three saves, and fellow freshman Hannah Weatherall finished off the final 17 minutes of the match to preserve the shutout.

The Tornados will return to action on September 20, as they will travel to Decatur, Ga. to take on Agnes Scott College.
