  • Women’s Lacrosse Announces Home Schedule Change

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team has announced a change to its 2020 home schedule slate at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  LaGrange College has suspended its 2020 season due to low roster numbers and has forced a schedule alteration for the Tornados. In lieu of BC’s originally scheduled home-opener on Saturday, February 29, the Tornados will now welcome Johnson & Wales University - Denver to Brevard, North Carolina on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. Stay tuned to bctornados.com and the official social media channels of Brevard College Tornados Athletics for future schedule change information. 
  • Berry Pulls Away Late from Brevard in Season Opener

    Freshman attacker Autumn Kraemer led all Tornados with five goals, but the Brevard College women’s lacrosse team (0-1) fell by a final of 15-12 on the road against Berry College (1-2) in the Tornados’ season-opening contest on Saturday evening in Mount Berry, Georgia.  Kraemer, a freshman from Stewartstown, Pa., scored five of BC’s 12 total goals on 10 shots-on-goal. Returning sophomore midfielder Hannah Scharf added three scores, while senior Micaiah Vacchiano and freshman Savannah Colliver each scored twice. Colliver dished our Brevard’s lone assist in the contest.  Making her first career start in goal, freshman goalkeeper Carlie Henning recorded four total saves. 
  • Brevard vs. Truett McConnell Set for February 18 at 2 p.m.

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team has announced a change to its 2020 schedule. The Tornados will now travel to Cleveland, Georgia to take on Truett McConnell University on Tuesday, February 18 at 2 p.m. The non-conference contest was originally scheduled for the following day.   • Women’s Lacrosse Selected Ninth in Preseason Poll

    The Brevard College women’s lacrosse team was selected to finish in ninth place in the annual USA South Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll.  Defending champion Meredith College claimed preseason favorites after receiving 11 first-place votes and 121 total points in the poll. Pfeiffer University placed second in the tabulation by receiving one first-place vote and 101 points. Pfeiffer and Brevard are in their final season of NCAA DIII transition and are ineligible for the USA South Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, but both have the opportunity to enter the ECAC Women’s Lacrosse Championships at the conclusion of the regular season, depending on overall final record.
  • Women’s Lacrosse Announces Slate of Opponents for 2020

    Head Coach Kristen Rosato has announced the schedule for the Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse program for the upcoming 2020 Spring season.  Brevard’s 2020 calendar features six home regular-season dates as well as one exhibition contest at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The Tornados will compete in 15 total regular-season competitions, 11 of which being USA South Conference competitions.  “We have a young, talented group of athletes that have set high expectations for the upcoming season,” commented Rosato on Brevard’s upcoming 2020 season. “There are no easy games on our schedule, so we will have to be diligent in our preparation. This team has all of the qualities to be successful and I am looking forward to debuting that on February 1.”

    Throughout the NCAA’s Annual Diversity & Inclusion Week, several Brevard College student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff will be featured on bctornados.com.  The fourth and final day of the four-day week (October 22-25) is titled “Taking Action” - a day that is focused on outlining personal action steps for inclusive excellence. #NCAAInclusion Week, sponsored by the NCAA’s Office of Inclusion, helps bring awareness and spotlight to diversity and inclusion on college campuses by giving student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and staff an outlet to share their stories through social media.  Below highlights Brevard College women’s lacrosse junior defender Nia Davis, Brevard’s sixth feature of #NCAAInclusion Week.
