LAURINBURG, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Basketball Team (6-5) ended 2018 with a tight 77-72 setback at non-conference opponent St. Andrews University (5-6) on Monday afternoon.
Senior guard Annalee Bollinger, the Tornados' leading scorer in the 2018-19 season, led the way for Brevard scoring 20 points. Brevard enjoyed two other double-digit scoring outputs, as Ty'She Washington tallied 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting while Destiny Williams added 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Junior forward Krysta Davis grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds as well in the contest.
The Knights were led by the double-double performance of Morgan Perkins, who recorded 15 points and 12 rebounds on the afternoon. Samantha Ring racked up a game-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, which included a 4-of-7 mark from beyond the arc.
With the defeat, the Tornados close out 2018 with a winning 6-5 record that includes a 2-3 mark in conference play. Brevard continues its stretch of four games in seven days by hosting first-place USA South opponent Berea on Wednesday at 3 p.m. before hitting the road for a back-to-back weekend swing in Georgia. Brevard travels to LaGrange on Friday at 6 p.m. before heading to Macon to face the Wesleyan College Wolves on Saturday at 2 p.m.
