  • Noah Reisig Named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brevard College

    Noah Reisig has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brevard College, announced Head Athletic Trainer Liz Kelley. Reisig, who begins his duties at BC immediately, will work specifically with the sports of Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field, and Volleyball.
  • 112 Brevard College Student-Athletes Selected to USA South Academic All-Conference Team

    The USA South Conference announced its annual USA South Academic All-Conference list, selecting a school-record 112 Brevard College student-athletes as Academic All-Conference selections, part of a conference-record 1,702 overall selections. Brevard’s 112 selections onto the Academic All-Conference team gives the Tornados 21 more selections than the 2018-19 season, as BC ranks tied for sixth out of the 18 USA South institutions in overall selections. A total of 32 student-athletes earned “With Distinction” honors, a significant growth of 15 selections from last academic year. The BC men’s soccer program claimed the most selections onto the Academic All-Conference team with 16, as every single team at Brevard was recognized by the USA South. In order to be selected to the USA South Academic All-Conference team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.30 GPA in each of the two semesters in the academic year to be eligible. Any student-athlete participating at any Conference institution is eligible thus the participant does not have to compete in a Conference-sponsored sport. Additionally, any student-athlete earning a 3.90 GPA or above earned the All-Academic honor "With Distinction".

    Brevard College has announced the selection of Robert “Bob” Gray (Cross Country/Track & Field), Andy Latimer (Track & Field), and Thad Walker (Cycling) as the 2020 inductees into the Brevard College Athletics Hall of Fame.

  • Spring Senior Profile: Quentin Jackson #ThankYouSeniors

    Senior sprinter Quentin Jackson, a three-year member of the Brevard College Track & Field program, is the next honoree in BC Athletics’ Spring Senior Profile series, highlighting and honoring 2020 seniors in Spring sports who had their respective seasons cut short due to the impact of COVID-19. Jackson, a native of Suitland, Maryland, plans to graduate in December of 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Organizational Leadership and a minor in Criminal Justice. The senior plans to come back next Fall to compete for one more season with the BC Football team, where Jackson patrols the defensive backfield.
  • Relay Victory Highlights Strong Start for BC Track & Field at Braves Track Classic

    Brevard’s 4x100 meter relay team of Jerel Dewalt, Jakob Morris, Jamerial Parks, and Mitchell Yoder claimed a win in Friday’s 4x100 meter relay race to highlight a strong overall showing for the Brevard College men’s and women’s track & field teams at the Braves Track Classic on Friday in Pembroke, North Carolina, hosted by NCAA DII UNC Pembroke.  The relay squad posted a time of 42.91 to lead the way in the five-team field. Dewalt started the race, with Morris and Yoder in the middle, while Parks served as the team’s anchor to clinch the victory down the stretch.  The Brevard 4x100 team defeated second-place Guilford (43:95) by 1.04 seconds with North Carolina Wesleyan (44:54) placing third.
  • Brevard College, USA South Conclude Spring Sports as Response to COVID-19

    After careful consideration in the wake of nationwide cancellations and postponements in the intercollegiate and professional sports landscape as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, and in the best interest of the health and well-being of student-athletes, family, staff, and fans, the USA South Athletic Conference has announced the conclusion of the 2020 Spring regular season. This also extends to all USA South Conference championships and the 2020 USA South Spring Sports Festival, originally scheduled for April 23-26 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. As a result of this news, and in alignment with the USA South and the NCAA, the Brevard College Department of Athletics will be suspending all athletic-related activity - including competitions, practices, and travel – for the remainder of the 2020 Spring semester. This extends out to current Spring sports in their traditional season of competition as well as Fall sports entering into their non-traditional practice seasons. The cancellation of all athletically-related activities includes Brevard College's non-NCAA sports of Cycling, Climbing, and Competitive Cheer & Dance, while also extending to the use of on-campus athletic facilities such as the weight room and gymnasiums, among other areas.
  • Coach Patrick Announces Track & Field Schedule for Spring 2020

    Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Darryll Patrick has set the 2020 Spring schedule for the Brevard College Track & Field program.  “We are really looking forward to getting things started this semester,” commented Coach Patrick on the upcoming season. “We had some success last season at the conference meet and brought home some hardware at the ECAC Championships, and we look forward to building on that this Spring.” Coach Patrick fields a Track & Field team that made strides during the 2019 campaign. BC’s 4x100 relay team, which featured returning senior Quentin Jackson, finished second at the 2019 USA South Conference Championships before taking home gold by winning the 4x100 relay race at the 2019 ECAC Championships last May in New Haven, Connecticut.
