Kielson Elevated to Assistant Softball Coach at Brevard College

BREVARD, N.C. – Charles Kielson has been named Assistant Softball Coach at Brevard College, announced Head Coach Bob Lowe. This past season, Kielson served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the BC softball team.

Kielson brings a combined 20 years of coaching experience to his new position at Brevard College.

"I am very excited to continue my coaching career at Brevard College," stated Coach Kielson.  "My goal is to share my love of softball and help produce a winning team on the field, but more importantly in the classroom. Team play, honor, integrity, and hard work are virtues that can be valuable both on the field, and in all aspects of life."

Prior to arriving at Brevard College, Kielson spent three seasons as the Assistant Softball Coach at Montreat College, where he worked primarily with pitchers and catchers. His collegiate coaching career also extends to Western Carolina University.

Before entering the collegiate coaching landscape, Kielson was the Assistant Softball Coach at nearby T.C. Roberson High School. Kielson also spent 12 years coaching various travel softball teams. Most recently he coached Firecrackers NC-Kielson, which was a highly competitive high school-level travel team that consisted of players from North and South Carolina. Firecrackers NC-Kielson produced a team of highly recruited student-athletes who were successful in obtaining college scholarships.

In 2017, Kielson was awarded the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 300 Victory Club award. This award is presented to travel head coaches who amass 300 or more career victories.
