OFFICIAL RELEASE LINK

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - Brevard College Softball student-athletes Ali Grace Hartman and Emily White were honored by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) on Monday afternoon. Hartman was named to the College Division All-State First Team as a utility player, while White earned a nod on the College Division All-State Second Team as an infielder. The Tornados' duo became the first-ever BC Softball student-athletes to receive NCCSIA honors.

Hartman, a freshman for the Tornados in 2019, enjoyed a solid rookie campaign. The Lawndale, N.C. native appeared in 21 contests overall, including 12 games in the pitching circle for Brevard. Hartman posted a .320 batting average and a .640 slugging percentage in 25 at-bats, recording 11 RBIs, three doubles, a triple, and a home run during her freshman campaign. Hartman also posted two victories in her pitching appearances over the course of 2019.

White, a sophomore from Shelby, N.C., posted numerous team-leading offensive statistics, including batting average (.400), hits (48), RBIs (29), doubles (6), and triples (7). In 120 at-bats in the 2019 season, White only struck out twice in what was a stellar individual campaign that saw her earn USA South Softball First-Team West Division honors.

Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.
