BREVARD, N.C. - Sophomore captain Brittany Franks was named to the USA South Conference All-Sportsmanship team on Thursday morning.
The USA South Conference released its season awards after the conclusion of the USA South Softball regular season. Brevard, along with Pfeiffer University, is eligible this season for weekly and postseason awards amidst transition into the NCAA DIII ranks.
Franks, a two-sport athlete at Brevard College, is a native of Belmont, N.C. She served as a team captain this season for the Tornados while appearing in 31 games in 2019. Franks tallied 10 hits while scoring eight runs and driving in four RBIs. The sophomore student-athlete stole two bases and also hit a double this season.
The honor marks the second time this academic year that Franks has been selected to a USA South All-Sportsmanship team. She was also named to the USA South Volleyball All-Sportsmanship team back in early November.
Franks helped lead the Tornados to 17 wins in 2019, the program's highest win total since the 2015-16 campaign.
