Tornado Softball Hosts Agnes Scott, Wesleyan This Weekend

BREVARD, N.C. – Looking to snap a 10-game losing streak, which dates back to a March 17 doubleheader loss to Covenant, the Brevard softball team hosts Agnes Scott (March 30) and Wesleyan (March 31) this weekend.

Saturday's contests against the Wolves also marks the team's Senior Day festivities for the Tornados, who will honor Paige Atkison, Amber Hong and Brittan Miller for their contributions.

Leading the way for Brevard (5-12) in batting average is Teegan Bullock, who has connected on 18 hits in 47 at-bats (.383 batting average / min. 10 at-bats), resulting in 11 runs scored. Atkison is responsible for the most RBI for the Tornados in RBI (11), while Sara Lalier (10) is a close second.

Atkison also sits atop the team in extra base hits with six, amassing four doubles, one triple and one home run on the season.

Ricki Kuhn (3-8) is the top performer on the mound for Brevard with 23 strikeouts in 52.1 innings pitched. Kuhn has scattered 67 hits and allowed 58 runs (33 earned runs) in 15 appearances.

Agnes Scott (5-21) has won two of its last three games, including a split with LaGrange on Wednesday afternoon. The Scotties have earned four wins on the road this season.

Cecilia Siegal is the top hitter in the Agnes Scott lineup with a .375 batting average, converting 27 of 72 at-bats, and leads the way with five doubles and 18 RBI. Kayla Quesenberry (3-4) has earned the most wins on the pitching staff, while Caitlin Weaver has logged the most innings (60), allowing 81 hits, 46 runs (30 earned runs), while making 24 strikeouts.

Wesleyan (9-21) begins the weekend with a trip to Piedmont, set for Friday, March 30, before making the trek to Brevard. The Wolves are riding a three-game winning streak that began with a 9-8 win in the second game of the doubleheader with Berea on March 24.

Four Wesleyan hitters have better than a .300 batting average, including Yasnei Llavore (.396), who has 36 hits in 91 at-bats. She leads all hitters with 12 doubles and 28 RBI.

Joining her are Victoria Clower (.356 batting average), Hannah Allen (.333) and Savanna Boyette (.315). Allen has accrued the most runs (26) on the team, while Boyette is second with 21.

Clower is also making her impact on the mound, owning a 5-10 record. She has logged 93 innings, surrendered 154 hits, allowed 99 runs (82 earned runs), made 28 strikeouts and has a 6.17 ERA.
