Tornados Host Milligan Tuesday

BREVARD, N.C. – Looking to put an end to its eight-game losing skid, the Brevard softball team makes its home debut on Tuesday afternoon when the Tornados host Milligan at Ives-Lemel Field.

The first game of doubleheader between the two teams is set to begin at 2 p.m. and game two will follow shortly thereafter.

The Tornados (5-11) are led offensively by Teegan Bullock, who tops the team in hits (16), runs scored (11) and batting average (.381) among players with at least 10 at-bats.

Brevard has also gotten an offensive punch from Emily White, who leads the way in doubles and Paige Atkison, who tops the team in most RBI (11).

On the mound, Ricki Kuhn leads the way with three wins, making 19 strikeouts in 45.1 innings.

Milligan (10-10) saw its six-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday with a doubleheader sweep against King.

Jaclyn Jenkins its tops among Buffs hitters with a .438 batting averaging, connecting on seven hits in 16 at-bats, three of which resulted in doubles. Teammate Kaylee Frascatore leads the way with 15 RBI and six doubles on the season.

Kassi Butcher leads the way for the pitching staff with a 5-4 mark, striking out 32 batters on the season. She has logged 53.2 innings and has allowed only 19 walks and 14 extra base hits.
