BREVARD, N.C. – For the third time this season and the second time in a row, senior Tom Mittring and freshman Tyler Frazee have collected USA South weekly honors. Mittring claimed the USA South Men's Tennis Player of the Week award, while Frazee snatched the USA South Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week honor for the third-straight week.
Both players helped the Tornados to an undefeated 3-0 week as a team, with all victories coming at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
Mittring, a senior from Bavaria, Germany, earned a 3-0 singles record at the top position and a 3-0 doubles mark splitting time at the number-one and two spots last week for the Tornados. Mittring collected singles victories over opponents from Johnson (TN) along with USA South foes Huntingdon and Berea. In doubles, Mittring teamed with three different partners to earn the three wins.
Frazee, a freshman from Tampa, Florida, earned a 3-0 singles record at the number-three position and a 3-0 doubles mark splitting time at the number-one and two spots last week for the Tornados. The victories in singles came over opponents from Johnson (TN) along with USA South foes Huntingdon and Berea. In doubles, Frazee teamed with three different partners to earn the three wins.
These two distinctions mark the 21st and 22nd USA South weekly honor garnered by Brevard College student-athletes this academic year.

Mittring, Frazee, and the rest of the 2019 BC Men's Tennis team head to Maryville, Tenn. for a mid-week USA South clash against Maryville College on Wednesday, April 3 at 1 p.m. before returning to the McCoy Tennis Complex on Saturday, April 6 for Senior Day against Covenant College at 2 p.m.
