BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College Men's Tennis student-athletes Tom Mittring and Tyler Frazee swept through the USA South Conference's weekly Athlete of the Week honors after impressive individual performances for the Tornados.

Mittring was named USA South Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season after an undefeated week, winning all six of his matches in both singles and doubles action.

While the Tornados posted a 1-2 week with tight losses to LaGrange and Johnson C. Smith, Mittring was perfect in six matches between singles and doubles while playing the top flight in each. Mitting's 18-match win streak in singles continued with three straight-set victories, including 6-0, 6-0 result over LaGrange. In doubles, Mittring teamed up with Tim Hengst to win all three matches at first doubles, highlighted by an exciting 8-7 (5) result at home against the Panthers.

Frazee earned his second-consecutive USA South Rookie of the Week honor after posting an undefeated, 3-0 week in singles play.

Frazee posted a perfect 3-0 mark at line three with wins over conference opponents Maryville and LaGrange. In a 9-0 win over Maryville, the Tampa, Florida native went through singles and doubles without dropping a single game. Despite a tight 5-4 loss to LaGrange, Frazee edged out his match with a 10-8 win in a third-set super tiebreaker. Frazee also picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Johnson C. Smith over the weekend.

These two distinctions mark the 18th and 19th USA South weekly honor garnered by Brevard College student-athletes this academic year.
