  • School-Record 129 Tornados Named Academic All-Conference

    A school-record 129 Brevard College student-athletes have been named 2020-21 USA South Academic All-Conference selections. Thirty one of the 128 BC student-athletes also earned “With Distinction” honors for superior academic achievement.

  • BC Men’s Soccer Announces Fall 2021 Schedule

    The defending Spring 2021 USA South Conference West Division Champion Brevard College men’s soccer team has announced its schedule for the upcoming Fall 2021 season of competition. BC’s slate of opponents features 16 matches in total, with 15 regular season and one exhibition contest. The Tornados will play six conference contests inside of the west division and have nine non-conference matchups scattered across its schedule leading up to the USA South Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament, held October 30 through November 6 where an automatic berth to the NCAA DIII Men’s Soccer Tournament will be on the line.

  • Men’s Soccer Honors Four Seniors in 8-0 Exhibition Win

    The Brevard College men’s soccer team honored its four seniors – Marquis Dickerson, Jose Sanchez, Adam Spencer, and JP Suarti – in a special halftime ceremony on Sunday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field, as the Tornados defeated USC Union in an exhibition matchup 8-0. Seven different Tornados got on the score sheet, led by freshman forward Ryan Lynch who notched a brace of two goals. All four seniors – Dickerson, Sanchez, Spencer, and Suarti – notched goals in addition to scores by Noah Martin and Ryan Sinkamba. Dickerson and Igor de Silva dished out assists for the Tornados while starting goalkeeper Jack Pruehs combined for a shutout with fellow goalkeepers Otis Kahar and Thiago Leopardi.
  • CHAMPIONS!!! Brevard College Men’s Soccer Captures USA South West Division Championship

    After drawing through 110 minutes of play, 4-4, the Brevard College men’s soccer team (6-2-1) claimed the deciding penalty-kick shootout, 5-3 over Covenant College (6-2-1) to capture the program’s first piece of USA South postseason hardware, as the Tornados captured the Spring 2021 USA South Conference West Division Championship on Saturday afternoon in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Brevard’s title marks the program’s first postseason championship in the NCAA-era. The title comes in BC men’s soccer’s fifth postseason appearance in its NCAA history.
  • Brevard Advances to USA South West Division Championship with 2-1 Win over Piedmont

    The Brevard College men’s soccer team (6-2) advanced to the USA South West Division Championship Game with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Piedmont (6-6) in the first round of the divisional tournament on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.  The win came in the first-ever USA South Conference postseason match and BC men's soccer's first home playoff game in NCAA-era history. Saturday's victory marked BC men's soccer's first playoff win since 2016. Second-seeded Brevard will now play top seed Covenant on Saturday, April 10 in Lookout Mountain, Georgia for the USA South Conference West Division Championship.

    The Brevard College men's soccer team (5-2) is ready for its first appearance in the USA South Conference postseason on Saturday, as the Tornados host BC’s first home postseason contest in the NCAA era on Saturday. The Tornados will match up against Piedmont College (6-5) at Ives-Lemel Family Field, with kickoff slated for 4 p.m.

  • Men's Soccer's Conference Finale at Huntingdon Canceled

    In accordance with USA South Conference COVID-19 management protocols, the men's soccer match between Brevard College and Huntingdon College originally scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. in Montgomery, Alabama, has been canceled. The cancellation marks the conclusion of the conference portion of the regular season for Brevard College men's soccer. The Tornados now turn their attention to the first round of the USA South Conference Men's Soccer West Division Tournament.  
  • Offensive Attack on Record Pace for Brevard College Men’s Soccer

    The offensive attack and goal-scoring opportunities for the Brevard College men’s soccer team have been on a record pace as the Tornados finish the conference portion of their USA South schedule and prepare for their first appearance in the USA South Conference West Division Tournament. The Tornado offense, which has already scored 25 goals with 21 assists in just seven matches played, ranks top-five nationally in total goals (25, T-2nd), total assists (21, 2nd), and total points (71, 2nd), while leading the USA South Conference in all three of these offensive categories.
  • Tornados Drop Heartbreaker in Overtime

    The Brevard College men’s soccer team (5-2) fell in overtime, 2-1, to visiting Greensboro College (5-2) in a non-conference affair on Sunday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.   The Tornados led the match for a span of 67 minutes, but Greensboro scored in the 90th minute and then just 43 seconds into overtime to take the win.  Senior Adam Spencer scored in the 22nd minute for a career-best fourth time this season to establish a 1-0 lead for Brevard in the opening half.  Spencer found the back of the net after a brilliant offensive sequence with Sam O’Callaghan and Francesco Bonometti setting up the veteran striker.
  • Men’s Soccer Puts Five Past LaGrange in Shutout to Clinch Postseason Berth

    The Brevard College men’s soccer team (5-1, 4-1 USAS) took care of business at home on Sunday, scoring five times in a shutout win, 5-0, over USA South Conference foe LaGrange College (1-3, 1-3 USAS) to ensure the Tornados’ position in the USA South Men’s Soccer West Division Tournament. The berth marks the second-consecutive postseason appearance for the Tornados under the direction of Head Coach Helio “L” D’Anna, as Brevard was selected to the 2019 ECAC DIII Men’s Soccer Championship. The trip marks Brevard’s first at the conference level since the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament.  BC’s trip to the West Division Tournament marks the program’s fifth postseason appearance in the NCAA-era. 
  • Trio of Consecutive Goals Hand Tornados Conference Victory at Maryville

    The Brevard College men's soccer team (4-1, 3-1 USAS) prevailed in a USA South Conference contest, 3-1, against Maryville College (1-4, 1-3 USAS) on Wednesday evening in Maryville, Tennessee. The victory marked BC’s second consecutive conference victory, as well as the Tornados’ second triumph over Maryville in a row. Reigning USA South Men’s Soccer Player of the Week Vinicius Giannaccini put in his fifth goal of the season, as the Jacarei, Brazil native leads the Tornados in goals and ranks fourth in the conference in goals and points scored (11 points). Sophomore defender Trystan Wallace scored his first career goal in what proved to be the game-winner, while freshman forward Ryan Lynch scored the second goal of his rookie campaign.

    The Brevard College Tornados men's soccer team (3-1, 2-1 USAS) is set for its next USA South Conference matchup this Wednesday at Maryville College (1-3, 1-2 USAS) in Maryville, Tennessee at 7 p.m. BC is coming off a USA South Conference win at home against Berea College, 3-0. Sophomore Vinicius Giannaccini scored two goals and one assist while freshman Francesco Bonometti scored his fourth goal of the season. Giannaccini was selected as USA South Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week following his five-point performance (two goals, one assist) last Sunday against Berea College in a 3-0 victory for the Tornados.
  • Giannaccini Earns Player of the Week Honor from USA South

    Brevard College men's soccer's Vinicius Giannaccini has been selected as USA South Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week following his five-point performance (two goals, one assist) last Sunday against Berea College in a 3-0 victory for the Tornados.  Giannaccini, a native of Jacarei, Brazil, was involved in every goal for the Tornados in their 3-0 triumph over conference foe Berea. Giannaccini opened the scoring in the 21st minute with the eventual game winning goal. He then assisted on a goal in the 53rd minute before scoring an insurance goal in the 70th minute.  The nomination marks the first USA South Athlete of the Week honoree for the Tornados men's soccer team in the Spring 2021 campaign. 
  • Giannaccini’s Brace Helps Tornados Secure Conference Victory

    Sophomore forward Vinicius Giannaccini scored twice and dished out an assist for five total points as the Brevard College men’s soccer team (3-1, 2-1 USAS) put a trio of goals past Berea College (0-3, 0-3 USAS) in a 3-0 conference victory on Sunday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Giannaccini, a second-year player from Jacarei, Brazil, put a pair of goals in alongside a strike from Francesco Bonometti, giving the pairing four goals each thus far in the 2021 Spring campaign. Alongside Giannaccini’s assist, Estevan Berto, Adam Spencer, and Wendel Lima also contributed to the build-up of Brevard’s three scores.
  • Brevard Men's Soccer Returns Home to Host Berea on Sunday

    The Brevard College Tornados men's soccer team (2-1, 1-1 USAS) is set for its next USA South Conference matchup this weekend at home versus Berea College (0-2, 0-2 USAS) on Sunday at 2 p.m. Live video will be available, free-of-charge, at youtube.com/BrevardCollegeTornados, with live statistics on bctornados.com.  The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent. The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brevard College has established spectator guidelines for Spring 2021 home, outdoor athletic events. The updated guidelines are in accordance with the adjusted outdoor spectator policy announced by the USA South Conference on February 23. 2021. These regulations apply to the sports of baseball, football, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, softball, men’s tennis and women’s tennis at Brevard College.

  • Second Half Goals Push Covenant Past Brevard in Chattanooga

    The Brevard College Men's soccer team (2-1, 1-1 USAS) fell in a USA South Conference contest, 3-1 to Covenant College (2-1, 2-0 USAS) Saturday at the UTC Sports Complex in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The Tornados got on the board first with a 20th-minute goal by freshman Ryan Lynch, which gave the Charlotte, North Carolina native his first collegiate goal. Late in the first half, Covenant equalized via a goal by junior Mercer Stout. In the second half, the Scots scored in the 66th minute and 88th minute from Knox Gibson and Jake Major, respectively.
  • Tornados Head to Chattanooga for Matchup with Scots

    The Brevard College Tornados men's soccer team (2-0, 1-0 USAS) is set for its first away USA South Conference matchup this weekend, traveling to Covenant College (1-1, 1-0 USAS) on Saturday at 2 p.m. Saturday’s upcoming match was moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Sports Complex.   • Brevard Holds Off Piedmont in Thrilling USA South Opener

    The Brevard College men’s soccer team (2-0, 1-0 USAS) held off the visiting Piedmont College Lions (0-1, 0-1 USAS) in its USA South Conference opener at Ives-Lemel Family Field on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon. The Tornados used a lone goal in the 29th minute from sophomore forward Vinicius Giannaccini – one that was assisted by freshman midfielder Estevan Berto – and a stout, stingy defensive effort that included five saves to edge out Piedmont for the conference triumph. Sophomore goalkeeper Pedro Campos (2-0) kept a 90-minute clean sheet with five saves to keep the Lions off the scoresheet. Ryan Lynch (three shots) and Adam Spencer (two shots) threatened goal, while defenders Sam O’Callaghan and Trystan Wallace also got shots off for the Tornados.

  • Tornados Run By Warriors in Emphatic 11-1 Victory

    Seven different Tornados found the back of the net as the Brevard College men’s soccer team (1-0) opened its Spring season of competition in emphatic fashion, 11-1, over the Southern Wesleyan Warriors on Sunday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Francesco Bonometti, a sophomore transfer from Paderno Franciacorta, Italy, earned a hat-trick in his first contest as a Tornado, scoring three times alongside an assist for seven points in the matchup. Sophomore forward Pedro Herrera added a pair of goals and an assist, while senior forward JP Suarti found the back of the net twice in the first half. Marquis Dickerson, Vinicius Giannaccini, Rami Kadri, and Adam Spencer also scored, while Kadri, Sam O’Callaghan, Igor da Silva, Ryan Sinkamba, and Jose Sanchez also tallied assists in the 10-goal victory.

The Tornados welcome a robust class of new talent, with 16 newcomers alongside 18 returning student-athletes.
  • Spectator Policy Announced for Brevard College Outdoor Sports

    As a safety measure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only Brevard College students, faculty and staff, as well as essential game personnel, will be permitted at outdoor sporting events during the Spring 2021 semester. No outside spectators will be permitted for any athletics event on the Brevard College campus. For those attending the match from the on-campus community, masks and social distancing are required as well as Brevard College identification.
  • Brevard Men’s Soccer Picked Third in USA South West Division Preseason Poll

    The Brevard College men’s soccer team has been selected to finish third in the USA South Conference West Division Coaches Preseason Poll ahead of the start of the Spring 2021 season of competition. The Tornados, who finished the 2019 regular season in second place in the USA South West Division, garnered a first-place vote in the tabulation alongside 26 points to place third in the annual preseason poll voted on by the men’s soccer coaches in the USA South. Covenant College, the defending USA South West Division Regular Season Champions, finished with three first-place selections and 33 points to edge Maryville College’s three first-place votes and 32 points. Piedmont College garnered 23 points to finish fourth, while LaGrange College (14 points), Huntingdon College (12 points), and Berea College (seven points) round out the west division preseason poll.
