Crusaders Turn Back Brevard, 2-0

BREVARD, N.C. – A series of second half goals by North Greenville proved to be the difference as the Crusaders emerged with a 2-0 victory over Brevard at Ives-Lemel Family Field on Monday evening.

Gareth Greene broke a scoreless tie at the 53rd minute to give the Crusaders (2-4-0) a 1-0 advantage. Greene managed to get through a seam in the Brevard (1-2-0) defense to net his second goal of the season.

Lucas Gravely added the insurance goal at 79:28, following a corner kick, as North Greenville earned its second shutout in as many matches.

Hiroki Noguchi started in net for the Tornados and made three saves. The Tornados finished with seven shots on goal, led by the tandem of Omar Jiminez and Jesse Omezi.

The Tornados return to action this weekend with a pair or road matches at Methodist (Sept. 23) and N.C. Wesleyan (Sept. 24).
