Brevard Set to Take on Ferrum

BREVARD, N.C.- After their bounce-back win over Methodist on March 3rd, Brevard men's lacrosse will look for its first road victory of the season at Ferrum on Saturday afternoon.

Brevard (4-2) was able to hold off a late rally attempt from Methodist to remain unbeaten at home this season, behind three goals and three assists from junior Kyle Hunziker. The Tornados also played stout defense, forcing 18 turnovers and goalkeeper Xzavier Holmes-Copeland tallied 21 saves against 27 shots from the Monarchs.

On the season Jackson McKaig and Hunziker continue to lead the charge on offense, as they lead the team with 36 and 34 total points, respectively. The duo also rank third and fourth in the USA South Conference in the same category. As a team on the defensive end of the field, Brevard ranks fourth in total points allowed (53) in the USA South Conference.

Ferrum (3-5) heads into the game following their 24-4 beating of Averett to snap its two-game losing streak. In that game, the Panthers pounced out to a 13-0 lead before the Cougars were able to score their first goal in the third quarter. Kyle Lister leads the team with 15 goals on the season, and ranks third on the team in total points (19).

The meeting on Saturday will be the first ever meeting between the two programs.
