CLARKESVILLE, Ga. – Austin Fisher finished in seventh place after hitting a final-round 73 to lead three Brevard College golfers at the Piedmont Fall Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at The Orchard Golf & Country Club in Clarkesville, Georgia.
After hitting a 75 in the tournament's first round on Monday, Fisher gained two spots on the final leaderboard with his 73 on Tuesday to place seventh in a field of 56 total golfers.
In fact, all three Brevard College golfers improved upon their first-round scores. Thomas Purcell leaped up 12 places after hitting a 76 in the second round to finish in a tie for 22nd place. Thibault Tranchant improved seven strokes from round one to round two with a final round 76 to jump nine spots and into a tie for 29th place.
Lucas Spahl of Methodist University won the event with a three-under-par total score of 141 (72-69).
The par-72 Orchard course played at 6,884 yards and conditions were warm for the competitors with temperatures reaching the mid-80s.
The Brevard College Men's Golf team will conclude its Fall Schedule on Monday, October 29 with the Maryville College Invitational at the Maryville College-Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford, Tennessee.
