  • Athletics Field House Officially Opens with Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting

    The new Athletics Field House on the campus of Brevard College officially opened its doors with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday, August 27. The 10,375 square foot Field House will provide locker room, offices, storage and meeting space for six Brevard College sports as well as classrooms and a laboratory for the college's Exercise Science program.
  • School-Record 129 Tornados Named Academic All-Conference

    A school-record 129 Brevard College student-athletes have been named 2020-21 USA South Academic All-Conference selections. Thirty one of the 128 BC student-athletes also earned “With Distinction” honors for superior academic achievement.
  • Clark & Hacker Honored by D3baseball.com, Earn All-South Region Accolades

    Freshman outfielder Logan Clark and senior right-handed pitcher Huntley Hacker have become Brevard College Baseball’s first two All-Region honorees in the school’s NCAA DIII era, as Clark was named All-South Region Rookie of the Year while Hacker earned a selection on the All-South Region Third Team. Clark, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, enjoyed a breakout freshman campaign that led to a USA South Conference Baseball Rookie of the Year selection in addition to being named Brevard College’s Male Rookie of the Year in the department’s yearly awards show – The BESPYs.
  • 41 Brevard College Student-Athletes Graduate As Part of Class of 2021

    A total of 41 student-athletes, representing 13 different sports graduated as part of the Class of 2021 at Brevard College’s 168th Commencement Ceremony held at Ives-Lemel Family Field on Saturday, May 8.
  • Clark Selected as Conference’s Rookie of the Year as Pair of Tornados Honored by USA South

    Brevard College freshman outfielder Logan Clark was selected as the 2021 USA South Conference Baseball Rookie of the Year following a breakout campaign in his first collegiate season.  Clark becomes the first major USA South award winner for the Brevard College baseball program.
  • Brevard’s Sensational Late-Season Run Concludes with 8-2 Defeat to Piedmont

    The Brevard College baseball team (13-14, 7-6 USAS) concluded its 2021 season on Wednesday afternoon at Gil Coan Field, falling by a final of 8-2 to Piedmont College (21-14, 8-6 USAS) in the final regular-season conference contest of the season. The defeat wraps up an impressive late-season run by the Tornados, who played their way into playoff contention by winning four-consecutive USA South Conference contests last week to set up the win-and-advance scenario. Wednesday’s matchup with Piedmont was the third game of the two team’s season series, rescheduled from April 18.
  • Jucker, Melton Earn Final Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors of 2021 from USA South

    Junior shortstop Jason Jucker and senior right-handed pitcher Ben Melton have claimed the final weekly award honors from the USA South of the 2021 season, as Jucker was selected as the conference’s Player of the Week, while Melton earned Pitcher of the Week honors. The selections come after the Tornados turned in an impressive 4-1 week, splitting a home doubleheader with Covenant College before an emphatic three-game sweep over visiting Huntingdon College to set Brevard in prime position to potentially clinch the program’s first postseason appearance as a member of the USA South Conference.
  • Win and In: Tornados and Lions Meet Wednesday for Spot in USA South Postseason

    Brevard College, Piedmont College, and the USA South Conference have announced the rescheduling of a previously postponed contest. The Tornados and Lions will conclude their three-game season series on Wednesday, May 5 at 3 p.m. at Gil Coan Field in a contest that will determine the USA South West Division two-seed in the upcoming USA South Conference Baseball Tournament.
  • Dominant Doubleheader Sweep for Brevard College on Senior Day

    The Brevard College baseball team (13-13, 7-5 USAS) completed a three-game sweep over Huntingdon College (13-19, 4-10 USAS) by taking both games of a Senior Day doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Brevard College’s senior class of Daiquon Davenport, Jakob Dennis, Christian Ezzell, Huntley Hacker, Holden Lanier, Ben Melton, Hayden Price, Tanner Revis, Beau Shealy, and JJ Wilkes was honored in a special ceremony in between games. Brevard claimed the first contest, 7-3 before surging past the Hawks with a big 11-2 victory in which all 10 seniors saw action.
  • Brevard Battles Back to Upend Hawks, 8-5

    The Brevard College baseball team (11-13, 5-5 USAS) scored seven unanswered runs and shut down Huntingdon College (13-17, 4-8 USAS) over the game’s final five innings to claim a key conference victory, 8-5, on a sunny Friday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Junior shortstop Jason Jucker led the way offensively for the Tornados with a 2-for-5 effort with a double and three RBI’s. Jucker led five Tornados with multi-hit performances, as Zach Allison, Logan Clark, Peter Fumero, and Noah Harris all logged two hits in the game. Clark added his first collegiate double while Allison tallied an RBI. Fumero recorded a sacrifice hit and a stolen base in the matchup. Nathan Sanders (3-2) was the pitcher of record after relieving Trenten Anderson, who lasted 3.2 innings of work. Sanders hurled 2.1 hitless innings with a pair of key strikeouts to keep the Tornados in the lead. Bryce Bowers worked a pair of innings with a strikeout and no runs allowed before senior right-handed pitcher Huntley Hacker earned his third save of the season with a perfect ninth inning to clinch the three-run victory.
  • Tornados Score 10 in Game Two, Split Twin Bill with Covenant

    The Brevard College baseball team (10-13, 4-5 USAS) split a USA South Conference home doubleheader against Covenant College (18-12, 4-6 USAS) on a warm, sunny Tuesday afternoon at Gil Coan Field.  The two sides battled down-to-the-wire in a game one contest scheduled for seven innings, with Covenant taking the early lead, 2-0 before BC eventually tied the contest at 2-2. The Scots were able to scratch across a run in the top of the seventh and nail down the conference victory, 3-2. Brevard quickly bounced back in game number two, avenging their earlier defeat by scoring 10 runs - its second-highest offensive output of 2021 - on 12 hits to claim the 10-4 win. 
  • Panthers Take Two from Tornados on Sunday

    The Brevard College baseball team (9-12, 3-4 USAS) fell in both ends of a USA South Conference doubleheader against LaGrange College (17-7, 9-1 USAS) on Sunday afternoon in LaGrange, Georgia.  The Tornados battled back after falling behind early in game one, cutting LaGrange’s lead to six runs before eventually dropping the contest 17-8. The Panthers then used a big fourth-inning in game two to clinch the doubleheader sweep, 19-2, via run rule in the seventh inning. 
  • Baseball Adjusts Series with LaGrange

    Due to the threat of inclement weather, Brevard College baseball has announced an alteration to its scheduled series at LaGrange.  The Tornados and Panthers will now play a two-game USA South Conference doubleheader on Sunday, April 25 at 2 and 5 p.m. in LaGrange, Georgia. 
  • Sanders Strikes Out Career-High 11 in Doubleheader Split vs. Piedmont

    Sophomore right-handed pitcher Nathan Sanders struck out a career-high 11 batters as the Brevard College baseball team (9-10, 3-2 USAS) split a USA South Conference doubleheader against Piedmont College (18-11, 5-3 USAS) on Monday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Sanders, a native of Franklin, North Carolina, set down 11 Piedmont batters in six impressive innings of work, allowing just one hit while not surrendering an earned run, as the Tornados prevailed with the 4-2 victory.
  • Brevard Baseball Adjusts Home Schedule

    The Brevard College baseball team has announced changes to its home USA South Conference schedule. The Tornados and Piedmont College Lions are now slated to match up in a conference doubleheader on Monday, April 19 at Gil Coan Field scheduled for 12 and 3 p.m. Brevard and Covenant are scheduled to make up their conference series on Tuesday, April 27 at 12 and 3 p.m. Furthermore, BC’s senior day will now be held on Saturday, May 1 vs. Huntingdon College at 1 p.m.
  • Baseball Postpones Next Seven Home Contests

    In accordance with USA South Conference COVID-19 management protocols, the BC baseball home contests vs. Covenant College (April 9-10), vs. Pfeiffer University (April 14), and vs. Piedmont College (April 16-18) have all been postponed.

    Senior right-handed pitcher Huntley Hacker was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday following his stellar work in relief over the weekend as the Brevard College baseball team took two-out-of-three games from Maryville College in their first conference series of 2021.

    Freshman right-handed pitcher Trenten Anderson collected the second USA South Baseball Rookie Pitcher of the Week award of the season after his eight-inning performance in Brevard’s 3-2 victory over Maryville that clinched its conference-opening series last Saturday. 
  • Baseball Rallies to Take Two-of-Three from Maryville in Conference-Opener

    The Brevard College baseball team (8-9, 2-1 USAS) clinched its USA South Conference opening series with a doubleheader split against Maryville College (5-11, 1-2 USAS) on Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Tennessee. Brevard battled in a tightly-contested first game, falling 4-0, before rallying late behind dominant pitching performances in game two for a series-clinching 3-2 triumph. Freshman right-handed pitcher Trenten Anderson (2-2) earned the victory in the series finale after eight innings of two-run ball, striking out five batters. Huntley Hacker continued his hot stretch of pitching with his first save of the season, coming on midway through the ninth and throwing a scoreless frame.
  • Lanier Double Pushes Tornados Past Scots in Conference-Opener

    Senior infielder Holden Lanier hit a go-ahead RBI-double in the top of the ninth inning, while senior right-handed pitcher Huntley Hacker (1-1) slammed the door in the bottom of the frame to give the Brevard College baseball team (7-8, 1-0 USAS) the edge over Maryville College (4-10, 0-1 USAS) on Friday afternoon in Maryville, Tennessee. Lanier collected a pair of hits alongside BC’s lone extra-base hit of the contest, while freshman Logan Clark surged for a 4-for-4 day at the plate with an RBI and a run. Zach Allison added a hit, run, and RBI as eight different Tornado batters registered base hits in the USA South Conference contest. Ben Melton earned the fourth start of his senior campaign, going 6.2 innings allowing seven hits and a pair of runs while striking out five Scot batters. Hacker came on in relief midway through the seventh inning, ending a scoring threat in the bottom of the seventh and earning the victory after 2.1 perfect innings of work.
  • Falcons Take Midweek Contest

    The Brevard College baseball team (6-8) fell in a midweek contest at Gil Coan Field, 17-3, as the Pfeiffer University Falcons (5-5) evened up the season series on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman outfielder Logan Clark enjoyed a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while Daiquon Davenport, Peter Fumero, and Holden Lanier also logged multi-hit performances against Pfeiffer. Davenport and Lanier each came across to score, while Fumero and Lanier tallied two of BC’s three RBI’s in the contest. Freshman right-handed pitcher Cameron Cook (0-1) started the first game of his collegiate career, striking out four Falcons in 3.1 innings. Bryce Bowers struck out the side in his lone inning of work, as eight different Tornados saw action on the mound.
  • Baseball Home Matchup vs. Pfeiffer Moved to Tuesday at 4 p.m.

    The Brevard College baseball team has announced that its mid-week home contest vs. Pfeiffer University, originally scheduled for Wednesday, has been moved to this Tuesday, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. at Gil Coan Field. Live video and statistics will be provided, free-of-charge, on the Brevard College Athletics YouTube channel and bctornados.com.
  • Doubleheader at Pfeiffer Postponed Due to Inclement Weather

    Due to the continued threat of inclement weather in the Misenheimer area, Saturday's doubleheader at Pfeiffer University has been postponed. The two institutions will work on makeup dates for these non-conference contests.  The Tornados are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 31 when Pfeiffer visits Gil Coan Field at 4 p.m. 
  • Pair of Comeback Attempts Come Up Just Short in Doubleheader

    The Brevard College baseball team (6-7) made a pair of late comeback attempts in its home doubleheader against Greensboro College (6-5), however, both rallies came up just short as the visiting Pride swept the doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Gil Coan Field. Greensboro withstood a late Tornado rally in game number one, claiming a 5-1 victory before winning the second contest in extra innings, 4-3. The start time for the doubleheader was delayed an hour due to inclement weather and field conditions. Both matchups were played in a seven-inning format.
  • Brevard Hosts Greensboro in Midweek Doubleheader

    The Brevard College baseball team (6-5) returns to the confines of Gil Coan Field for a pair of seven-inning contests against Greensboro College (4-5) on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1 p.m., with the second contest following shortly at approximately 3:30 p.m.  Live video will be available, free-of-charge, on the Brevard College YouTube channel, with live statistics on bctornados.com.  The Tornados most recently played in a home-and-home series against Mars Hill University, hosting the Lions for a doubleheader last Saturday before a road contest on Sunday. 
  • Mars Hill Rallies Late to Down Brevard, Sweep Home-and-Home Series

    A six-run eighth inning proved the decider as the Brevard College baseball team (6-5) fell, 11-7, to Mars Hill University (10-10) in the series finale on Sunday afternoon in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Freshman outfielder Logan Clark led all hitters with a four-hit performance, going 4-for-5 with an RBI-triple, two RBI’s, and a run scored. Clark now has four triples hit through his first 11 collegiate games. Zach Allison and Jason Jucker also enjoyed multi-hit performances for the Tornados, with Jucker tallying a 3-for-6 day at the dish while Allison posted a 2-for-5 performance. Senior outfielder Beau Shealy came across to score twice for the Tornados in the series finale.
  • BC Drops Twin Bill to Lions

    The Brevard College baseball team (6-4) dropped a pair of non-conference contests in a doubleheader vs. NCAA Division II foe Mars Hill University on Saturday at Gil Coan Field.  The Tornados fell 12-2 in game one of the twin bill, followed by an 8-4 defeat in the second game.
  • Baseball's Weekend Road Series at Mary Baldwin Canceled
    March 18, 2021
    In accordance with COVID-19 management protocols, the non-conference baseball contests between Brevard College and Mary Baldwin University, which were scheduled to take place this Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21 in Staunton, Virginia, have been canceled. The Tornado baseball program is currently searching for replacement contests in lieu of the canceled matchups at Mary Baldwin.
