Mike Victory Named Head Baseball Coach at Brevard College

BREVARD, N.C. – Mike Victory has been named Head Baseball Coach at Brevard College, announced Director of Athletics Myranda Nash.

"After an extensive search for our next Head Baseball Coach, we are thrilled to have Coach Victory join the Tornado family," said Nash.  "Mike's experience, combined with his strong leadership ability, will be a huge asset for the Brevard College baseball program moving forward."

Victory joins Brevard College after three seasons as the Assistant Coach at NCAA Division III Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania to go along with extensive experience coaching for the USA Baseball Academy.  He will begin his duties as Head Coach of the Tornados on August 1.

"I want to first thank Myranda Nash and the search committee for giving me the opportunity to lead the Tornado baseball program into its next chapter," said Victory.  "I am eager to start working with the team and bring my passion for baseball to Brevard.  The college is headed in a great direction and I have high expectations for the baseball program going forward."

This past season, Victory helped guide Allegheny to a 22-17 overall record and a 10-7 record in the North Coast Athletic Conference.  As Pitching Coach, he led the Allegheny pitching staff including 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year Sean Kealey.  He also served as Allegheny's Recruiting Coordinator and Head JV Baseball Coach.

Prior to his tenure at Allegheny, Victory spent four seasons as an Assistant Coach at St. Mary's College (Maryland), serving as the team's Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.  As Pitching Coach, he helped the Seahawks lower their team earned run average in his first season and mentored Capital Athletic Conference standout Sam Beatty.  In addition to his baseball duties, Victory served as an Assistant Coach for the St. Mary's women's basketball program for seven seasons.

Since 2010, Victory has served as a Spring Training Head Coach for the USA Baseball Academy.  With USA Baseball, Victory has organized eight-week pitching programs where he has led top youth baseball players.  Additionally, Victory has been a Head Coach at the Diamond Skills Baseball Camp since 2015.

As a student-athlete, Victory was a pitcher for St. Mary's College from 2009-12.  A two-year captain and a four-time CAC All-Academic Team selection, he claimed the team's Rookie of the Year award in 2009.  In his senior season, Victory finished in the top-25 nationally in fewest walks per inning (0.125) while also receiving the Athletic Director's Award for his overall performance as a student-athlete on and off the field.

Victory is a native of Westford, Massachusetts where he attended Westford Academy.  He graduated from St. Mary's College (Md.) in 2012 with a Bachelor's of Arts in History.  He later earned a Master's degree in Teaching in 2013.
