Brevard Seeks Revenge Against Pfeiffer

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard baseball will go on the road to take on Pfeiffer looking to avenge their sweep two weeks ago when the teams met at Gil Coan Field. First pitch of the three-game series is set to be thrown at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

SCOUTING PFEIFFER

Since the last time the two teams met, Pfeiffer (23-7) picked up a sweep over N.C. Wesleyan last weekend to extend their winning streak to 11 games. The Falcons have continued to be led by their offense, as the team has tallied 264 runs, and lead the USA South Conference with a .518 slugging percentage. Junior Kirby Lambert still leads the charge on the offensive side of the plate with a conference-high 11 home runs.

LAST TIME OUT

Brevard went up the road to take on Mars Hill in a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, and suffered setbacks in both games. Jonte Wilkes proved to be a bright spot in those two contests, as the freshman tallied three hits and five RBI in the two games combined, nearly matching his total RBI on the season heading into the doubleheader against Mars Hill (six, before April 11).

WELL-BALANCED OFFENSE

Over the course of the season, 16 different players have recorded at least one RBI for the Tornados, with sophomore Ryan Roon recording a team-high 21 RBI. The top eight players in the RBI category have recorded at least five, and all eight of the Tornados are either freshman or sophomores.

SENIOR PITCHERS CONTINUE TO SHINE

Seniors Drake Black and Tyler Timms still rank in the top 25 players in Division III in strikeout totals, and both are in the top six in the USA South Conference in that category. Black remains the top player in the conference with 81 K's this season.
