Pfeiffer Completes Sweep of Brevard on Senior Weekend.

BREVARD, N.C.- Drake Black and Tyler Timms each pitched complete games in the doubleheader against Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon in the final home games of their career, however the Falcons came away with 6-2 and 6-1 victories at Gil Coan Field.

In the first game of the doubleheader Timms made an impact on the mound and at the plate, as the senior threw his fourth complete game of the season while adding six strikeouts pitching, and went 3-for-4 at bat with an RBI. Eddie Mattocks added the other RBI in the contest in the bottom of the second inning to take the only lead of the day for the Tornados.

Pfeiffer received offensive production from Derek Perry and Jordan Eckard, as the two Falcons each recorded two RBI in the first game. The Falcons took a lead they would not look back from in the top of the seventh, when Xavier Rodriguez broke the 2-2 tie on a base hit to score Perry. On the mound, Pfeiffer's pitchers combined for five strikeouts and allowed just two runs.

The second game of the afternoon saw NCAA Division III strikeouts leader Drake Black add five more K's to his resume, which matched the total of all three pitchers Pfeiffer used in the second matchup of the day.

From the plate, Ryan Roon recorded the only RBI of the game for Brevard as he was able to score Jadon Wooten in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The two losses dropped Brevard to 6-20 on the season, and will travel to Montreat for a rematch with the Cavaliers on April 2.
