Tornados Look to Carry Momentum Against Montreat

BREVARD, N.C.- After their first three-game sweep of the season, Brevard will host Montreat on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m., in search of its fourth straight win.

In its last series, Brevard (5-15) beat Berea three times over the weekend, as the offense averaged 6.7 runs per game while allowing just four total earned runs against the Mountaineers. Senior pitchers Drake Black and Tyler Timms each threw complete games, with the highlight of the weekend coming from Black's 17-strikeout performance in the first game of the series. Black continues to lead the USA South Conference in K's with 62, 18 more than the next closest on the list.

On the season from the offensive side of the plate, sophomore Ryan Roon and freshman Christian Ezzell are tied for the team lead in hits (20), while Ezzell and sophomore Joseph Nelms have reached the double-digit RBi mark through the first 20 games (14 and 11, respectively).

Montreat (10-15) heads into the game after being swept by Truett-McConnell at home over the weekend. In that series, the Cavaliers surrendered 11 runs per game, and gave up more than 10 runs in two of those games for the first time all season.

In the previous meeting between the two programs, Montreat won at Gil Coan Field over Brevard 12-3 on Feb. 28, 2017.
