Brevard Travels to LaGrange for Three-Game Series

BREVARD, N.C.- Brevard baseball will go on the road this weekend in search of its first road victory of the season, as the team faces LaGrange for a three-game series starting at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

Brevard (2-12) heads into the series following a 15-5 setback to Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday night, in a game where four different Tornados recorded at least one RBI, led by sophomore Tyler Petit with two on the night.

On the season, Donny Carsillo leads the team with seven RBI, followed by the trio of Christian Ezzell, Joseph Nelms, and Ryan Roon who have each recorded six RBI over the course of the 2018 campaign. The young bats of Ezzell and Mikey Mejias have also recorded one home run each, as they lead the team in that category.

Senior Drake Black continues to lead the Tornados on the mound, as he has owns a team-low 5.68 ERA (min. of 10 innings) and remains in sole possession of first place in the strikeout category in the USA South Conference with 37 on the season.

LaGrange (8-10) is coming off a 9-3 win over Huntingdon last Sunday, which snapped a four-game losing streak. The Panthers are led on the offensive side of the plate by James Poropatic, who leads the team in hits (23) and RBI (16).

Brevard and LaGrange will play in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon, followed by one game on Saturday, set to start at 1 p.m.
