Brevard Faces Mars Hill in Midweek Clash

BREVARD, N.C.- Coming off their second walk-off win of the season, Brevard will take on former South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill at Gil Coan Field on Wednesday afternoon. Brevard (2-3) heads into their final game of their six-game homestand to begin the season, and will look to pull their record to .500 with a win over the Lions.

In the last game, sophomore Ryan Roon delivered the walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to score two runs and for the Tornados earn their second win of the season. With his two RBI's on the play, he is second on the team in that category, only behind Joseph Nelms (four).

Senior Drake Black pitched his second complete game of the season in the victory, as the right-hander leads the team with 20 strikeouts and a team-low 3.71 ERA.

Mars Hill (2-8) is coming off a 9-7 win over Montreat on Monday night, as the Lions were able to score two runs in the bottom of the eigth inning to break the tie and earn the victory. Junior catcher Matt Honeycutt leads the team in offensive production, as he is first on the team in batting average (.371), RBI's (eight) and home runs (two).

In the last meeting between the two programs, Mars Hill swept Brevard in three games in April, 2017 at Gil Coan Field.
