Molly Penland enters her fifth year in the Brevard athletic department and was promoted to Director of Business Operations on December 1, 2018.  She also serves as Head Coach of BC's competitive cheerleading and dance coach and Advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.  
 
Penland, a 2016 Brevard graduate, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice.  She also graduated with a master's degree in Business Administration from Western Carolina in May of 2018.

Upon graduating from Brevard, Penland worked in the business sector for Tapestry Residential Eating Disorder Facility where she served as Lead Residential Counselor and Site Counselor. As Lead Residential Counselor, she oversaw residential care, supervised mealtimes and leading groups including Body Image, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In the capacity of Site Counselor, she provided client care at the adolescent facility where she designed meal plans and led Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy groups after school with adolescents. 

Penland, a member of the Tornados’ cheerleading and dance team from 2012-16, returned to college athletics in August 2016. Assisting with the day-to-day business operation of the athletic department, Penland is essential to all budgeting and financial aspects of the Athletic Department. Penland also assists in all gameday operations and advises Brevard's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
